Is Needed free to use?
Needed is completely free for customers. You never pay to send a request or receive replies. Professionals pay credits to make contact, not you.
How many pros will contact me?
Up to 3 available professionals can contact you per request. Pros choose whether to respond based on the job details, so you may receive fewer than 3 replies if fewer pros are available in your area.
Are my contact details shared with pros?
Pros see your job description, street name, suburb, and timing, not your phone number. Your phone number is only shared with the pros who use credits to contact you (up to 3). They call or text you directly about your job.
What happens if no pros respond?
If no pros respond after 10 minutes, you can re-send your request to 3 more available pros with one tap. If coverage is limited in your area, your request can reach pros who travel to nearby locations.
What services are available on Needed?
Needed covers 10 services across New Zealand: plumber, electrician, locksmith, handyman, house cleaning, carpet cleaning, painter, lawn mowing, rubbish removal, and movers.
How do pros get verified?
Every pro on Needed is phone-verified via SMS before they can contact any customer. We also verify email addresses and NZBN (New Zealand Business Number). Each pro's account is linked to their verified phone number. These additional verifications aren't required to receive leads, but pros with more verifications are prioritised. For trades that require registration (like electricians), we recommend checking their credentials directly.
